Who is eligible to sponsor –

  1. You are at least 18 years old
  2. You are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada living in Canada or a person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act
  3. You are financially capable enough to provide basic needs of the one you wish to sponsor
  4. You are not receiving social assistance for reasons other than a disability

Some relations that you can sponsor under the dependent visa –

  1. Your spouse
  2. Your common – law partner
  3. Conjugal partner
  4. Dependent parents or grandparents
  5. Dependent children under the age of 22
  6. A child you adopted outside Canada while you held Canadian citizenship or PR
  7. Your brother, sister, niece, nephew, uncle, aunt or other close relatives

The one's you wish to sponsor must provide documents to prove their eligibility, they include –

  1. All required forms and documents with their application
  2. Any additional information that is requested such as –
    1. Medical examination
    2. Biometrics
